Prism Sound held one its Mic to Monitors event last night at the Harris Institute in Toronto, featuring renowned audio engineer Nick Blagona, as well as representatives from DPA’s Canadian distributor GerrAudio, Unity Audio, and, of course, Prism Sound . The Mic to Monitor series of education and product events are taking place in cities across North America, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Las Vegas.
Blagona sat down for an hour-long conversation and Q&A with those in attendance to talk about his career, gear choices, and recording techniques. Blagona is known around the music recording industry for his work with Cat Stevens, the Bee Gees, Chicago, Deep Purple, Moist, the Tea Party, and many more. He’s also well known for his honest and often funny demeanor, which was on full display as he chatted.
That was followed by product demonstrations on DPA’s range of instrument microphones, Unity monitors, and Prism Sound’s audio interfaces. Each of the presenters spoke about the products on-hand, and also took antendees through a set up and mix and answered questions from the audience along the way.
