Excitement builds for the USITT 2010 Annual Conference & Stage Expo, which will be held in Kansas City from March 31- April 3, 2010. In the past 50 years, the Conference & Stage Expo has been held in many cities throughout North America.
This year, over 200 sessions will be presented at the conference and each day will open with a special blockbuster session. USITT offers one, one and a half, or two-day workshops and seminars, which provide in-depth review in a specific area or skill. Participants should be prepared for an intensive learning experience. This years learning topics include, Tailoring a 1930's Male Suit, Painting From Your Desk - part 2, USITT Electrical Workshop, Rigging Fundamentals, The Physics of Theatre Project, Painting on Open Weave and Napped Fabrics, Creating a Digital Portfolio, Let's Render - A Fear Buster Theatre Rendering Workshop, and Digital Audio Networking. This years Broadway seminars include Lighting Design With Ken Billington and Natasha Katz; Costume Design with William Ivey and Tony Walton; and Projection Design with Michael Clark and Howard Werner. The Stage Expo runs from March 31 to April 2, 2010. It showcases businesses, products and services; and finally education and professional opportunities in the performing arts and entertainment industry. This year there are more than 200 exhibitors representing dozens of colleges, universities, and theatre groups discussing undergraduate and graduate programs, internships, and job opportunities. In addition to booth and table exhibitors, special exhibits on display at Stage Expo will include Design Expo as well as exhibitions highlighting USITT's 50-year history.
