After completing his studies in Film, Potvin began working as an advisor at Musique Richard Gendreau in Quebec City, where he rose to the position of Manager. In August 2016, Potvin joined the Roland Canada team as the Sales Representative focusing on Eastern Quebec. As of Jan. 1st, Potvin’s territory expands to include Eastern Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Roland Canada has announced that Brian Dupas, formerly the vice president of sales for Roland Canada, has been promoted to president and CEO. This move follows the promotion of now-former president and CEO Paul McCabe to the newly-created position of VP of marketing with Roland Corporation.
Over the past 30 years, Dupas has held many roles with Roland Canada, moving his way through the positions of BC sales representative, inside sales manager, and executive sales manager, and his most recent role of VP of sales, which he has held for the past five years.
GerrAudio has announced the appointment of Peter Snelgrove to the newly-created position of director of marketing and education.
Snelgrove has 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, initially with the Canadian division of News America Marketing and, most recently, with the mobile application Checkout51. He will be handling GerrAudio’s social media and online presence and will also be co-ordinating all print advertising and online news activities. Snelgrove will also focus new attention on the development and implementation of GerrAudio’s product training seminars and special events, including an expansion of Rational Acoustics Smaart Training across Canada.
L-Acoustics has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jeff Rocha as Head of Market Development for North America. Reporting directly to L-Acoustics CEO Laurent Vaissié, Rocha’s task will be to analyze and develop market strategies for L-Acoustics products in the North American market, collaborating across the applications, marketing, and sales functions for implementation.
Veteran audio industry executive Jim Mack has joined the Ashly Audio team in Webster, NY as CEO. He is tasked with helping expand the business in existing markets and create paths into new markets that leverage Ashly’s amplifiers, signal processors, and user interfaces. Mack will report directly to Marty Szpiro, president & CEO of Jam Industries, Ashly’s Canada-based parent company.

Woods begun his career as a touring live sound engineer, he was an integral part of the Jason Sound team through the 1990s, and since then has held positions with AMX, Crestron, and Lightware. He has enjoyed success in many roles including sales, product support, and product development, as well as AV and network consulting for both manufacturers and integrators.
In a move that the company says will strengthen and complete its North America technical services department, Riedel Communications has hired Alfred Monterrubio as a Service and Support Engineer. Monterrubio joins Riedel with nearly a decade of experience in quality control and management for broadcast technology solutions.

TOA Canada Corporation, manufacturer of commercial audio and intercom products, has announced a realignment of sales territories, effective Jan. 3, 2017.
Warren Strem’s sales territory will now include the Northern Territories, including the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut. He will also be responsible for British Columbia and Alberta. Strem joined the TOA team in early 2016 as regional sales manager for B.C. and Alberta. He has been working closely with Barry Taylor learning the region, says the company.
TOA Canada Corporation, manufacturer of commercial audio and intercom products, has appointed Mitsuhiro Omura as its president and CEO, effective Jan. 3, 2017.
Omura comes to North America from TOA Corporation’s head office in Kobe, Japan. He brings with him 19 years’ experience. He will be leaving his post as section manager of the International Sales Section where he handled sales teams for South America, India, and South Korea.
L-Acoustics has appointed Josh Maichele and Jesse Stevens to serve as the manufacturer’s newest North American regional applications engineers. The announcement comes from L-Acoustics, Inc. CEO Laurent Vaissie.
Serving both the install and rental markets, Maichele and Stevens are responsible for providing active technical support and expertise for L-Acoustics’ Certified Providers, end users and designers in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. and Canada, respectively. The two new hires will work closely with regional sales managers Paul Tillman and Scott Pizzo and report to both Scott Sugden and André Pichette, respective heads of applications for touring and install markets.
Based in New York, Jesse Stevens comes to L-Acoustics with 15 years of experience as a sound designer, engineer, and mixer for Broadway musicals, national tours and large-scale special events. He was a member of the sound design team for the Broadway productions of Rock of Ages, Motown the Musical, and After Midnight, all of which were nominated for a Tony Award for Outstanding Sound Design. Additionally, he’s spent time with Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas, the Radio City Spring Spectacular, and Waitress on Broadway.
