Jim Rhodes Joins Radial in Artist Relations

Jim RhodesRadial Engineering has announced that Jim Rhodes has joined the Vancouver-based team in Artist Relations.

Radial President Peter Janis says, “Radial just keeps growing year-over-year and the list of artists and engineers we work with continues to follow suit. We decided it was time to hire for this role to support the fostering and managing of these relationships. Jim will also take over the task of getting our products to magazines for their review columns. Jim is no stranger to Radial having worked very briefly for our nascent company Cabletek, now known as Radial, over 20 years ago and we are excited to have him be part of our team.”

AES Appoints John Krivit as New President

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has announced the appointment of new president John Krivit,  who takes over the leadership role from Andres Mayo. Previously Krivit served as chair of the AES Education Committee and is currently an Associate Professor teaching at Emerson College and Bay State College in Boston.

Krivit was voted president-elect of the AES in 2014 and has served on the executive committee of the board of governors over the last year. Beyond his experience in the studio and classroom, Krivit is known as a tireless connector of the professional audio and education worlds.  He is the founder of the Boston Area Definitive Audio Student Summit and of Hey Audio Student, a public Facebook group with more than 8,000 members that chronicles the events, resources, and opportunities available to audio students at all levels. Now in his 20th year of teaching, his students have gone on to do award-winning work in all facets of the audio and broadcast industries.

Shure Incorporated has announced that president and CEO Santo (Sandy) LaMantia intends to retire, effective July 1, 2016.

As part of a planned succession, he and Rose L. Shure, chairman, will appoint current executive vice president of global operations, marketing, and sales and COO Christine (Chris) Schyvinck to succeed him as president and CEO. On Jan. 1, 2016, Schyvinck will take on the added title of president, and will serve in this role until her appointment as president and CEO on July 1, 2016.

Renkus-Heinz today announced that company president Roscoe Anthony has decided to resign from his position, effective immediately.

“Roscoe has made positive contributions during his association with Renkus-Heinz, and we all wish him well for his future endeavors.” says Harro Heinz, founder and CEO. No replacement for Mr. Anthony is currently under consideration.  Harro Heinz will return to serve as president and CEO.

Hardin comes to Black Lion Audio with a wealth of experience within the musical instrument/pro audio Industry including the past seven years as general manager for FXpansion USA, Inc. (a manufacturer of virtual instrument and soft synth plug-ins). Prior to his tenure with FXpansion he held sales management and channel marketing positions with Ableton, Universal Audio, Antares Audio Technologies, Digidesign/Avid, and Emu Systems, to include management of both domestic and international distribution and retail accounts.

Supporting and developing L-Acoustics’ network of certified providers from Virginia to Quebec, Pizzo joins recently-appointed Applications Engineer Chris Sullivan to bolster the loudspeaker manufacturer’s operations in the northeast. Pizzo reports to Laurent Vaissie, CEO of L-Acoustics, Inc. (USA and Canada), who made the announcement.

Radial Engineering has introduced two new members of its Vancouver, BC based team.

Ryan Tobias joins Inside Sales, Central Region. Ryan learned the business of live sound before taking his formal education in audio engineering and recording while living in his home state of Ohio. After a few years of live engineer mixing onboard cruise ships, Ryan decided put down roots in Vancouver, BC where he’s since gained experience working in studios, including producing from his own home studio and gradually moving into sales.

Wohler Technologies today announced a new CEO and an update of its strategic shift to IP and software-centric designs. Both changes will better enable the company and its customers to anticipate and accommodate industry trends and opportunities, particularly the ongoing migration toward IP delivery of audio and video, according to Wohler.

In April 2015, Wohler launched the iAM-MADI multichannel monitoring system, the first in a series of new products featuring a software-defined design.
