Renkus-Heinz Hires New Loudspeaker Engineer

rh-lorenzobarrios-1Renkus-Heinz has expanded its engineering team with the appointment of Lorenzo Rene Barrios, Jr. to the position of loudspeaker engineer.

Barrios joins Renkus-Heinz after a tenure at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he served as principal audio/video specialist, working on projects at Disney theme parks in the U.S. and Asia. He has also held high-level design engineering positions at QSC Audio, as well as JBL Corporation. In his new position, Barrios will report to Senior VP Ralph Heinz and be involved in all facets of the engineering team.

Joyce Bente Named President & CEO of Riedel North America

Bente joins the company with nearly 30 years of experience in the broadcast industry, and she will lead strategy and operations with the primary goal of expanding Riedel’s presence across North American markets.

Intellimix/AVL Media Group will be operating out of a new, larger facility in Ville St-Laurent, QC, just west of Montreal, as of Dec. 1, 2015.

The company says the new facility will feature a state-of-the-art showroom dedicated to all its product lines. Intellimix/AVL encourage all its dealers, consultants, designers, and contractors to visit and experience this new project.

Tour Tech East Lives On Thanks to New Ownership

Tour Teach East, the Dartmouth, NS-based sound, video, and lighting provider for concerts and events, was forced to the brink of bankruptcy back in August of this year following a series of financial woes that included one of its creditors, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), calling in a loan and then taking ownership of the company’s building. Now it has been announced that Tour Tech East has found a new owner in O’Regan’s Properties Ltd., but company founder Paul Hendrickson will remain company president.

Linear Acoustic has expanded its leadership team with the hiring of industry veterans Chris Shaw as VP of global sales for television and Martin Dyster as VP of business development for television. These hires are coupled with the promotion of Dan Chuey to VP of engineering and production.

Read Wineland Retires from Biamp Systems
