Woods begun his career as a touring live sound engineer, he was an integral part of the Jason Sound team through the 1990s, and since then has held positions with AMX, Crestron, and Lightware. He has enjoyed success in many roles including sales, product support, and product development, as well as AV and network consulting for both manufacturers and integrators.

In a move that the company says will strengthen and complete its North America technical services department, Riedel Communications has hired Alfred Monterrubio as a Service and Support Engineer. Monterrubio joins Riedel with nearly a decade of experience in quality control and management for broadcast technology solutions.
“We’re pleased to welcome Alfred to the team, and we know we’ll be relying heavily on his expertise in video software and quality systems as we continue to boost customer satisfaction in the North America region,” says Joyce Bente, president and CEO at Riedel North America. “Alfred will provide invaluable support for our customers and help us raise the bar for technical excellence throughout the North American marketplace.”
TOA Canada Corporation, manufacturer of commercial audio and intercom products, has announced a realignment of sales territories, effective Jan. 3, 2017.
Warren Strem’s sales territory will now include the Northern Territories, including the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut. He will also be responsible for British Columbia and Alberta. Strem joined the TOA team in early 2016 as regional sales manager for B.C. and Alberta. He has been working closely with Barry Taylor learning the region, says the company.
TOA Canada Corporation, manufacturer of commercial audio and intercom products, has appointed Mitsuhiro Omura as its president and CEO, effective Jan. 3, 2017.
Omura comes to North America from TOA Corporation’s head office in Kobe, Japan. He brings with him 19 years’ experience. He will be leaving his post as section manager of the International Sales Section where he handled sales teams for South America, India, and South Korea.
L-Acoustics has appointed Josh Maichele and Jesse Stevens to serve as the manufacturer’s newest North American regional applications engineers. The announcement comes from L-Acoustics, Inc. CEO Laurent Vaissie.
Serving both the install and rental markets, Maichele and Stevens are responsible for providing active technical support and expertise for L-Acoustics’ Certified Providers, end users and designers in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. and Canada, respectively. The two new hires will work closely with regional sales managers Paul Tillman and Scott Pizzo and report to both Scott Sugden and André Pichette, respective heads of applications for touring and install markets.
Based in New York, Jesse Stevens comes to L-Acoustics with 15 years of experience as a sound designer, engineer, and mixer for Broadway musicals, national tours and large-scale special events. He was a member of the sound design team for the Broadway productions of Rock of Ages, Motown the Musical, and After Midnight, all of which were nominated for a Tony Award for Outstanding Sound Design. Additionally, he’s spent time with Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas, the Radio City Spring Spectacular, and Waitress on Broadway.
Knowles has worked for Jam Industries for over 15 years and has previously held the position of GM of Korg Canada. During his tenure as general manager, the company says he demonstrated a propensity for implementing processes to facilitate procedures and has acquired the necessary knowledge to take the department and his team to the next level.
Music Group has appointed Van Williamson as VP of Installed Sound, with the stated responsibility of executing “a highly ambitious vision to deliver revolutionary installed sound solutions.” Music Groups’ brands include Midas, Klark Teknik, Lab Gruppen, Lake, Tannoy, and Turbosound.

Kees van Draanen back with Réalisations Inc. Montreal. He has more than 30 thirty years of experience working for cultural organisations based in Québec, Ontario, and Europe in the fields of administration, human resources, and finance.
After studies in history followed by diplomas in accounting and economics, Kees worked most notably for Cirque du Soleil as an administrative director from 1988 to 1993 in Canada and from 1994 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2005 in Europe. Upon his return to Canada in 2006, he consulted for the Palais Montcalm theatre to put into place its administrative structure. He then worked for Réalisations as its director of administration and finances and afterwards worked with the Grand Ballets Canadiens and, most recently, with RIDEAU – an independent network of presenters of artistic events.

Grech is a recognized professional in the Canadian audio visual technology integration industry with extensive experience in AV/IT technology sales and training. He has over 25 years’ experience in the conference and integration industry combining in-depth knowledge of audio and video solutions.
Building out the technical capacity and capabilities of its North American team, Riedel Communications has hired Zach Funk and Justin McClellan as service and support engineers in the Riedel North America Technical Services department. Through their previous experiences in live-event production and broadcast television, both Funk and McClellan have overseen setup, implementation, and maintenance of Riedel signal distribution and communications systems.
