Kees van Draanen back with Réalisations Inc. Montreal. He has more than 30 thirty years of experience working for cultural organisations based in Québec, Ontario, and Europe in the fields of administration, human resources, and finance.
After studies in history followed by diplomas in accounting and economics, Kees worked most notably for Cirque du Soleil as an administrative director from 1988 to 1993 in Canada and from 1994 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2005 in Europe. Upon his return to Canada in 2006, he consulted for the Palais Montcalm theatre to put into place its administrative structure. He then worked for Réalisations as its director of administration and finances and afterwards worked with the Grand Ballets Canadiens and, most recently, with RIDEAU – an independent network of presenters of artistic events.

Building out the technical capacity and capabilities of its North American team, Riedel Communications has hired Zach Funk and Justin McClellan as service and support engineers in the Riedel North America Technical Services department. Through their previous experiences in live-event production and broadcast television, both Funk and McClellan have overseen setup, implementation, and maintenance of Riedel signal distribution and communications systems.

Bob Snelgrove, president of GerrAudio Distribution, has announced the addition of Dany Legendre and Michael Belluz to the company’s team of technical sales support specialists.
Legendre is described as a highly respected technical artist throughout Quebec and has toured inside and out of Canada mixing a wide variety of concerts, special events, and broadcasts. He has a deep knowledge of DiGiCo mixing consoles as well as being recognized by DPA Microphones as a member of DPA’s “Master’s Club.” Most recently, Legendre has been known for being Roch Voisine’s head of audio. Legendre is based in Montreal and will be primarily looking after the Quebec market.

SC Media Canada has announced the hiring of Jimmy Katsipis as sales representative for Quebec and the Ottawa Region.
Katsipis comes to SC Media from SFM and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. He will responsible for the development of the Harman Pro brands (AKG, BSS, Crown, DBX, JBL, Lexicon, and Soundcraft), as well as Barco and Absen in his territory. Arif Nathu remains SC Media’s sales rep for the Montreal Metropolitan area.

Radial Engineering has announce the addition of Jon Lundgren to its Vancouver, BC based team. As a member of the engineering team, Lundgren’s primary objectives are to expand Radial’s digital design presence and develop a best-in-class design for the Radial group of companies. He will be a key member of the engineering team working on the recently re-launched Dynaco brand product line. Radial Engineering purchased the Dynaco brand earlier this year.

Martin Audio has appointed Dan Orton to the newly created position of product group manager, with immediate effect.
Orton will report to James King, director of marketing, and his duties will include management of both the product portfolio and product support team. At the same time he will be tasked with delivering improved territory application support and monitoring.
With extensive pro audio experience in both the live sound and installation markets, Orton has worked in a variety of engineering development and application engineer roles with both Turbosound and L-Acoustics.

Jacques Larue and Éric Cyr, partners at Montreal-based XYZ Cultural Technology, have announced the arrival of Joël Beauchamp, CTS, as director of facilities. Beauchamp brings more than 15 years’ audiovisual experience in key positions with companies such as Allied Systems and Solotech, where he worked as director of operations for the last three years.
Beauchamp is being brought on board as part of the strategic growth plan at XYZ Cultural Technology, which doubled its personnel this past year through acquisitions and new hirings. “This adds an important element to the exceptional team already in place,” says Larue. “In addition to being an excellent manager, Joël fully understands the issues surrounding audiovisual integration. His presence will support our growth-oriented strategy and ensure that our many ongoing and future projects continue to deliver high-quality standards.”

Radial Engineering has announced that Joseph Strovas has joined its team in the new role of international sales manager for Hafler, Dynaco, Jensen Transformers, and the Primacoustic Install Division.
Strovas has worked in the industry for nearly 30 years in all aspects of the business, including retail, distribution, and manufacturing. He brings a lot of experience in global business development for several specialty audio/hi-fi companies, including AudioQuest, Madrigal Audio Laboratories (including Mark Levinson, Proceed, Revel), BDI, and Densen Audio. Strovas also owned his own brick and mortar retail hi-fi business for seven years in Phoenix, AZ.
