Westbury National ‘Imagine’ Technology Showcase Set For March 9

0XImagineAV integration and full-service event production company Westbury National will welcome more than 50 exhibitors and 500 guests to experience some of the latest AV technology solutions for event producers and corporate A/V professionals at the Imagine technology showcase and networking event on March 9th from 1-9 p.m. This year the event moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leafs Gardens) in downtown Toronto.

Imagine is billed as the only event of its kind in Toronto where event producers and corporate A/V professionals come together to see, touch and interact with the latest in event and audiovisual technology.

CITT/ICTS has announced that it is expanding the exhibiting space at the second annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference, which is returning to Montreal on May 2nd and 3rd, 2016.

The show will host over 50 Canadian and American exhibitors at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The exhibiting companies cover all areas of the industry, including: audio-visual and screens; lighting; multimedia; pro audio and sound; staging equipment; special effects; and associations, education, and publishing. Likewise, over 1,000 professional attendees are from Eastern Canada and the U.S. are expected, according to organizers.


Salon Son & Image 2016 Announces Media Partnership with Norris-Whitney Communications

MTL Audio ShowNorris-Whitney Communications Inc., publisher of Professional Sound magazine, will be partnering with Salon Son & Image 2016 (SSI) — also known as the Montreal Audio Show — to support its efforts in broadening the show’s audience by incorporating the professional studio industry. The show will be held in Montreal on March 18-20, 2016.

Norris-Whitney Communications publishes Canadian Musician, Professional Sound, Professional Lighting & Production and Canadian Music Trade magazines.


CITT & Ryerson U to Present Inaugural Ignition Networking & Training Event

The CITT/ICTS Ontario Section and the Ryerson Theatre School will present the first edition of Ignition, a networking and training event being held in Toronto on January 9 and 10, 2016.

Expo SceneFollowing the success of its inaugural 2015 edition, CITT/ICTS has announced that Expo-Scène is returning to Montreal for a second edition on May 2nd and 3rd, 2016. The show will be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal and bring together professionals in the pro audio, lighting, audiovisual, and multimedia technology industries. They will have the opportunity to see, hear, and test new technologies available on the market.

SMALL-RK-WG-full-roomThe second annual IMSTA FESTA Toronto will head next Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Ryerson University and free registration is open.  Presented by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA), the IMSTA FESTA event are held annually in Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles and showcase the latest music-making and production technologies as well as educational seminars and keynotes speeches and Q&As.

This year’s event will feature a keynote presentation by legendary producers and engineer Jimmy Douglas (Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Al Green). Additionally, Canadian Musician Assistant Editor Michael Raine will be presenting a seminar on “Getting Your Message to the Media.” Other presentation and seminar topics will be “Composing for Visual Media,” “Dance Music Master Class,” and a “Cooking Beats” workshop.

The NAMM Foundation has announced the nominees for its 31st Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards in the categories of Outstanding Technical and Creative Achievement. The awards celebrate the best in professional audio and sound production. Voting begins Dec. 1st, with winners announced at a Saturday evening, Jan. 23, 2016 awards event held in the Anaheim Hilton’s Pacific Ballroom and via a live event web stream during the 2016 NAMM Show.
