Shure Wireless Rebate Running Until April 30th

ShureShure Incorporated and SFM, the company’s Canadian distributor, have announced a rebate program for Canadian wireless users of up to $600 per channel on the purchase of new Shure wireless microphones and personal monitor systems accompanied by the trade-in of wireless systems operating in the 600 MHz frequency band (614-698 MHz). Products from Shure and other wireless manufacturers are eligible for the trade-in program. The rebate is effective until April 30, 2018.


Peavey Once Again Selling Direct to Dealers in Canada

The company will now process orders directly from their Meridian, MS, corporate office and fulfill orders from their new warehouse hub in Ontario. The change is effective immediately and will also include the Peavey owned brands Trace Elliot, Budda, and Composite Acoustics.

Peavey COO Courtland Gray comments, “The opportunity to go direct to dealers allows Peavey to further expand our presence and provide better pricing throughout our full line of amplification and instrument brands. We look forward to once again having a direct connection with our dealer network in Canada.”

Initial orders can be placed directly with the Meridian, MS HQ and Peavey will roll out incentive programs to begin fulfillment to the dealers later this month.

The AES Inside Track is available exclusively through the AES Member Portal and is an added member benefit, free to all AES members and available on the AES.org website, with the first edition focusing on the topic of Sound Quality Prediction with curator Jon Francombe.

Canadian audiovisual integration and event services firm Westbury National has announced that Frank Gerstein is now Owner, Chairman, and President, taking over from company founders David (Benny) Bennett and Rob Sandolowich. Both Bennett and Sandolowich will continue to play active roles within the organization.

Since joining Westbury National in 2010 as a partner and managing director, Gerstein has led corporate strategic planning in addition to running operations driving innovation in the company’s Event and Show Services, and bringing new advancements to the Audio and Visual Solutions division.

The AES has announced that the award-winning and highly renowned recording engineer and producer Leslie Ann Jones of Skywalker Sound will deliver the Heyser Memorial Lecture at the upcoming AES New York Convention, taking place Oct. 18-21, 2017 at the Jacob Javits Center.

“Almost any superlatives applied to Jones and her decades of work would be understatement,” says Francis Rumsey, AES Technical Council Chair. “Her lecture, fittingly titled ‘Paying Attention,’ promises to take attendees on a fascinating, educational, and inspirational retrospective of the sessions leading to her vast discography and filmography, including those moments when focusing on the right detail has both sustained and enriched her storied career.” The Heyser Memorial lecture will take place on the opening evening of the convention – Oct. 18, from 6-7:30 p.m. Jones will also be featured during the 143rd International AES Convention in the special event presentation “Bearing Witness: The Music of Star Wars – Archiving Art and Technology,” on day two.
