CITT Ontario Section Hosting Ignition 2018 This Friday & Saturday

02 Rendezvous (1)The Ontario section of CITT is hosting Ignition 2018 this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 12-13). It’s a professional development event for students and working professionals held at Ryerson University’s School of Performance campus, just off Young and Dundas Square in downtown Toronto.

Friday January 12th will be CITT’s 15th year holding the Student Job Fair on Ryerson Theatre’s stage, followed by a Social Night hosted by IATSE local 58. The job fair is free and open to all, but registration is mandatory (the job fair is also included in the Full-event registration).

William F. White Sets Date for February Freeze 2018

AES@NAMM Pro Sound Symposium Unveils Full Program Schedule of Educational Training Sessions

NAMM_hdrWith a full schedule for the inaugural AES@NAMM Pro Sound Symposium: Live & Studio now online at both the AES and NAMM websites, participants will be able to review the varied educational program and select technical and training sessions they would like to attend. The four-day international symposium from the Audio Engineering Society, which will be held at the 2018 NAMM Show from January 25-28 in Anaheim, CA, is targeted at working professionals in the live sound, recording, and performance audio communities. The program comprises a series of training academies and related sessions on line-array technologies, live-sound mixing consoles, wireless systems, in-ear monitoring, and recording studio environments, in addition to tutorials on system measurement and optimization, plus a selection of technical papers in related fields. Classes will be held within the Anaheim Hilton Hotel’s NAMM U Education Center, adjacent to a new pro-audio exhibit space. A3E to Present The Future of Audio at The 2018 NAMM Show

NAMM_hdrA3E, the Advanced Audio + Applications Exchange, will present a series of discussions dedicated to the future of advanced audio applications and new music technologies at The 2018 NAMM Show from Jan. 25-28. The organization’s A3E Summit will feature 36 sessions feature case studies and expert panel discussions delving into the developments transforming the music and audio industries, and the use of Audio + Applications in production and performance.

Recording Academy P&E Wing to Present AES Panel on High Resolution Record Production

01 AES137The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing will be presenting a group of experts at AES 2017 New York as part of the convention’s Recording & Production track. Titled “High Resolution Record Production and Why It Matters,” this panel takes place Thursday, Oct. 19, from 3-4:15 p.m. (Room 1E14) at the Javits Center and will address current guidelines and production considerations when producing, recording, mixing, and mastering in High-Resolution audio.

The fourth annual IMSTA FESTA Toronto show is approaching, taking place next Saturday, Oct. 14 at Ryerson University’s Rogers Communications Building (80 Gould St.) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Presented by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA) and the SAE Institute, these free IMSTA FESTA events are also held in Chicago, New York, and Berlin and showcase the latest music-making and production technologies as well as educational seminars and keynotes speeches and Q&As.

TEC AwardsThe NAMM Foundation has announced nominees for the 33rd NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. The annual awards will be presented at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, which will be held from Jan. 27, 2018. It’s the global gathering of music, pro sound, and event tech industries, and celebrate the spirit of innovation, honouring the best-in-class products in the pro audio community. At the show, 31 categories of products and projects will be recognized in the areas of Technical or Creative Achievement to honour the many individuals, companies, and technical innovations used in sound recordings, films, broadcast television and video games.

AES143 in New York to Examine 3D Audio & Immersive Sound in Spatial Audio Track
