The Long Reach Long Riders have announced the dates and route for their next charity motorcycle ride. Following the success of its inaugural 2015 edition, CITT/ICTS has announced that Expo-Scène is returning to Montreal for a second edition on May 2nd and 3rd, 2016. The second annual IMSTA FESTA Toronto will head next Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Ryerson University and free registration is open. Presented by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA), the IMSTA FESTA event are held annually in Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles and showcase the latest music-making and production technologies as well as educational seminars and keynotes speeches and Q&As.
This year’s event will feature a keynote presentation by legendary producers and engineer Jimmy Douglas (Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Al Green). Additionally, Canadian Musician Assistant Editor Michael Raine will be presenting a seminar on “Getting Your Message to the Media.” Other presentation and seminar topics will be “Composing for Visual Media,” “Dance Music Master Class,” and a “Cooking Beats” workshop.
The Toronto chapter of the AES has announced its topic and date for the October meeting. Taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Ryerson University, the topic will be broadcast audio set up for the PanAm Games’ opening and closing ceremonies.

The NAMM Foundation has announced the nominees for its 31st Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards in the categories of Outstanding Technical and Creative Achievement. The awards celebrate the best in professional audio and sound production. Voting begins Dec. 1st, with winners announced at a Saturday evening, Jan. 23, 2016 awards event held in the Anaheim Hilton’s Pacific Ballroom and via a live event web stream during the 2016 NAMM Show.
