Lineup for AES 59th Conference on Sound Reinforcement Released

ADD4 MTLThe full lineup of special events, workshops, paper sessions, and tutorials has been released for the 59th AES International Conference on Sound Reinforcement, which will be held at McGill University in Montreal from July 15-17, 2015. This is the first AES International Conference in over 25 years dedicated to large scale sound reinforcement, public address, and live sound.

Montreal To Host 59th AES Conference On Sound Reinforcement in July

01 MTLThe Audio Engineering Society (AES) will hold its 59th International Conference, focusing on Sound Reinforcement Engineering and Technology at McGill University in Montreal from July 15-17, 2015. This is the first AES International Conference to focus on sound reinforcement in over 25 years.

A select group of leading technologists, scientists, developers, and users in the sound reinforcement industry will gather to discuss the latest innovations in sound amplification and control systems for live performance, share their insight on current and advanced techniques and technologies, and present their visions for the future of the industry.

InfoComm to Showcase Worship Market & More

15 InfoCommRegistration is now open for InfoComm 2015, which will welcome 980 AV exhibitors and more than 37,000 attendees from 110-plus countries to Orlando, FL from June 13-19 at the Orange County Convention Center.

New for InfoComm 2015 is a partnership between InfoComm International and Church Technical Leaders, an international group comprised of paid and volunteer church technical artists. The Church Technical Leaders Conference will help church technical artists take their skills to the next level and engage in advanced educational sessions. There will be sessions offered in audio, lighting, video, and leadership development.

AES 59th Conference on Sound Reinforcement Going to Montreal in July

It is the first time in over 25 years that the AES will be hosting an international conference on sound reinforcement and it will include tutorials, papers, and workshops covering topics of practical approaches to system design; case study analysis; and the measurement, optimization, installation, and testing of sound systems.

AES Toronto Hosting Day-Long Event on Network Audio Systems

The Toronto chapter of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) is presenting a day-long presentation entiteld “Network Audio Systems – A Primer on the State of the Art” on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

AES Toronto says “the traditional paradigm of transmitting audio and video media content over point to point dedicated cabling is being supplanted by methods of moving media content over networks, in particular Ethernet, LANs and IP based WANs. This day-long event will provide a basis of understanding of data networking in general while exploring the latest developments in methods, protocols, standards, and applications of networked audio.”

MNA Hosting AES67 Information Track & Interoperability Demonstration at NAB

The Media Networking Alliance is hosting a presentation and product demonstration at NAB on Sunday 12 April, on the topic of “Possible Ways to Integrate AES67 into Your Products”.

The MNA session will run from 3:00pm to 4:30pm in demo room N202LMR, and is being jointly presented by MNA broadcast company members ALC NetworX, Archwave Technologies, Lawo and The Telos Alliance.

On Saturday, May 16th, the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA) and SAE Institute Los Angeles will partner to host IMSTA FESTA Los Angeles on May16, 2015. The various IMSTA FESTA events held worldwide, including in Toronto, are described as a celebration of music technology. IMSTA FESTA brings a collection of music technology companies together in an environment where they can interact with music makers face-to-face.

The panels bring together an array of industry experts to discuss the state of the music business, technology, and more.

Avid Chairman, President, and CEO Louis Hernandez Jr. gives his keynote speech during the AES 57th International Conference

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) hosted its 57th International Conference, titled “The Future of Audio Entertainment Technology: Cinema, Television, and the Internet,” in Hollywood, California, on Friday, March 6, through Sunday, March 8, 2015. Co-chaired by Brian McCarty and Dr. Sean Olive, the conference was intended to stimulate increased dialog between the Hollywood content creation community and the AES, and drew a substantial audience to the three-day program, which was presented at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. Keynote addresses were given by noted industry professionals, including Dr. Floyd Toole, former AES president, fellow, and gold medal recipient; Louis Hernandez Jr., Avid chairman, president, and CEO; and Francis Rumsey, chair of the AES Technical Council, fellow, and bronze medal award recipient.
