Peter Woods Joins AVL Media Group as Ontario Sales Rep

Peter WoodsAndrew Hope, managing director of AVL Media Group, has announced that Peter Woods has joined the AVL team as its sales representative in Ontario.

Woods begun his career as a touring live sound engineer, he was an integral part of the Jason Sound team through the 1990s, and since then has held positions with AMX, Crestron, and Lightware. He has enjoyed success in many roles including sales, product support, and product development, as well as AV and network consulting for both manufacturers and integrators.

Whites’ Announces Expanded February Freeze Tech Showcase for Next Month

(Whites) has announced the return of its yearly technology showcase, The February Freeze.  This pre-NAB exhibit known for bringing together some of the brightest minds in the business with the latest innovations and technologies, will return to Toronto’s largest production support complex, the William F. White Centre, on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, from 12-8p.m.

Alfred Monterrubio Joins Riedel Communications’ North America Technical Services Staff

TOA Canada Corporation Announces Sales Territory Realignment

TOA Canada Corporation, manufacturer of commercial audio and intercom products, has announced a realignment of sales territories, effective Jan. 3, 2017.

Warren Strem’s sales territory will now include the Northern Territories, including the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut. He will also be responsible for British Columbia and Alberta. Strem joined the TOA team in early 2016 as regional sales manager for B.C. and Alberta. He has been working closely with Barry Taylor learning the region, says the company.

TOA Canada Corporation Appoints Mitsuhiro Omura as President & CEO

TOA Canada Corporation, manufacturer of commercial audio and intercom products, has appointed Mitsuhiro Omura as its president and CEO, effective Jan. 3, 2017.

Omura comes to North America from TOA Corporation’s head office in Kobe, Japan. He brings with him 19 years’ experience. He will be leaving his post as section manager of the International Sales Section where he handled sales teams for South America, India, and South Korea.

Korg Canada Now the Offical Canadian Distributor for Arturia

Founded in Grenoble, France, in 1999, Arturia specializes in the development of music software and hardware for professional and amateur musicians and producers. Fulcrum Acoustic Completes New, Larger Factory & Warehouse Facilities

fulcrum-factoryFulcrum Acoustic has enhanced manufacturing capacity and flexibility by completing work on a new 35,000-sq.-ft. facility in Whitinsville, MA to house its loudspeaker cabinet manufacturing, final assembly, shipping, and warehousing operations.

“This expansion has been a massive undertaking but it’s very gratifying to see it all come together,” says Fulcrum Acoustic Co-founder and Vice President of R&D David Gunness. “The new space includes a precision woodshop featuring a state-of-the-art computer numerical control (CNC) router, as well as dedicated areas for secondary operations, cabinet assembly, finishing and painting. L-Acoustics Appoints Two New Applications Engineers for North America

L-Acoustics has appointed Josh Maichele and Jesse Stevens to serve as the manufacturer’s newest North American regional applications engineers. The announcement comes from L-Acoustics, Inc. CEO Laurent Vaissie.

Serving both the install and rental markets, Maichele and Stevens are responsible for providing active technical support and expertise for L-Acoustics’ Certified Providers, end users and designers in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. and Canada, respectively. The two new hires will work closely with regional sales managers Paul Tillman and Scott Pizzo and report to both Scott Sugden and André Pichette, respective heads of applications for touring and install markets.

Based in New York, Jesse Stevens comes to L-Acoustics with 15 years of experience as a sound designer, engineer, and mixer for Broadway musicals, national tours and large-scale special events. He was a member of the sound design team for the Broadway productions of Rock of Ages, Motown the Musical, and After Midnight, all of which were nominated for a Tony Award for Outstanding Sound Design. Additionally, he’s spent time with Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas, the Radio City Spring Spectacular, and Waitress on Broadway.

Steve Knowles Named VP of Erikson Music & Korg Canada

Knowles has worked for Jam Industries for over 15 years and has previously held the position of GM of Korg Canada.  During his tenure as general manager, the company says he demonstrated a propensity for implementing processes to facilitate procedures and has acquired the necessary knowledge to take the department and his team to the next level.
