Fulcrum Acoustic Completes New, Larger Factory & Warehouse Facilities

fulcrum-factoryFulcrum Acoustic has enhanced manufacturing capacity and flexibility by completing work on a new 35,000-sq.-ft. facility in Whitinsville, MA to house its loudspeaker cabinet manufacturing, final assembly, shipping, and warehousing operations.

“This expansion has been a massive undertaking but it’s very gratifying to see it all come together,” says Fulcrum Acoustic Co-founder and Vice President of R&D David Gunness. “The new space includes a precision woodshop featuring a state-of-the-art computer numerical control (CNC) router, as well as dedicated areas for secondary operations, cabinet assembly, finishing and painting. By closely aligning Fulcrum’s engineering and manufacturing functions, the new workspace further enhances our ability to bring innovative, technology-driven loudspeaker solutions to market quickly.”

L-Acoustics Appoints Two New Applications Engineers for North America

L-Acoustics has appointed Josh Maichele and Jesse Stevens to serve as the manufacturer’s newest North American regional applications engineers. The announcement comes from L-Acoustics, Inc. CEO Laurent Vaissie.

Serving both the install and rental markets, Maichele and Stevens are responsible for providing active technical support and expertise for L-Acoustics’ Certified Providers, end users and designers in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. and Canada, respectively. The two new hires will work closely with regional sales managers Paul Tillman and Scott Pizzo and report to both Scott Sugden and André Pichette, respective heads of applications for touring and install markets.

Based in New York, Jesse Stevens comes to L-Acoustics with 15 years of experience as a sound designer, engineer, and mixer for Broadway musicals, national tours and large-scale special events. He was a member of the sound design team for the Broadway productions of Rock of Ages, Motown the Musical, and After Midnight, all of which were nominated for a Tony Award for Outstanding Sound Design. Additionally, he’s spent time with Blue Man Group at the Monte Carlo Las Vegas, the Radio City Spring Spectacular, and Waitress on Broadway.

Steve Knowles Named VP of Erikson Music & Korg Canada

Knowles has worked for Jam Industries for over 15 years and has previously held the position of GM of Korg Canada.  During his tenure as general manager, the company says he demonstrated a propensity for implementing processes to facilitate procedures and has acquired the necessary knowledge to take the department and his team to the next level.

After studies in history followed by diplomas in accounting and economics, Kees worked most notably for Cirque du Soleil as an administrative director from 1988 to 1993 in Canada and from 1994 to 1999 and again from 2002 to 2005 in Europe. Upon his return to Canada in 2006, he consulted for the Palais Montcalm theatre to put into place its administrative structure. NAMM Boosts Pro Audio Focus for 2017 Show

01nammThe National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) has announced it will feature Dante training and certification sessions on Jan. 20-21 at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, in addition to other pro audio show features. The 2017 NAMM Show will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center Jan. 19-22, 2017.

The Dante training sessions will be presented at the show by Audinate, and will offer attendees an intensive two-days, hands-on training program as part of the company’s Dante Certification Program. As an added programming bonus, TEC Tracks at The NAMM Show will host an “Introduction to Dante” session during its newly-announced Live Sound Day on Thursday, Jan. 19. On that day, participants can learn more about the multi-channel, digital media networking protocol.
