An experienced business leader with a deep history in pro audio, Harter’s mission will be to build the Martin Audio brand and help grow its success across multiple markets worldwide.

Harter’s experience include multiple pro audio roles including serving as both Director of R&D as well as Sales Director with Turbosound before joining Harman’s Mixer Group with several positions including Global Sales Director/VP for Harman’s Mixer BU.

LOUD Technologies Names T.J. Smith President & GM of EAW

TJ SmithEastern Acoustic Works (EAW) has announced the appointment of T.J. Smith as president and general manager. The announcement was made by Mark Graham, LOUD Technologies CEO.

Prior to joining EAW, Smith held a variety of leadership roles with the Harman organization. His most recent assignments include four years as general manager of the company’s operation in Shenzhen, China and management of the signal processing brands based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Expo-Scène Returning For Second Edition In May 2016

CITT/ICTS has announced that it is expanding the exhibiting space at the second annual Expo-Scène trade show and conference, which is returning to Montreal on May 2nd and 3rd, 2016.

The show will host over 50 Canadian and American exhibitors at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The exhibiting companies cover all areas of the industry, including: audio-visual and screens; lighting; multimedia; pro audio and sound; staging equipment; special effects; and associations, education, and publishing. Likewise, over 1,000 professional attendees are from Eastern Canada and the U.S. are expected, according to organizers.

AES Toronto Organizing Trip to Rochester’s Eastman School of Music

The Toronto chapter of the AES is organizing as trip to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY for Saturday, April 23, 2016. The trip will include a facility tour of the school’s three concert/recital halls and their inter-connection to a sophisticated recording control facility. There will also be a retrospective of the famed Summer Recording Institute, with former students and teachers sharing their memories and impressions.

Rochester’s Eastman School of Music is distinguished as being one of the premier music conservatories in the world. Since it was established in 1921, its commitment to excellence has seen generations of graduates go on to achieve renown in the fields of classical music and jazz.

8 Richard LaBergeMontreal-based Richard LaBerge has joined Calibre, the British manufacturer of audio and video scaling and switching technology, as vice president of international sales.

LaBerge has more than 20 years’ experience in business management, leadership, and product development globally. He co-founded Sensio Technologies Inc., where as VP he spearheaded the company’s success in licensing, business development and delivery of technologies to market. Prior to this, LaBerge developed commercial marketing and lending at Desjardins. He started his career in computer programming.

CAD Audio Promotes Jeff Beck to VP of Sales

Jeff BeckCAD Audio has promoted Jeff Beck to the position of Vice President of Sales with responsibility for overseeing domestic, international, and Internet sales for the company and all of its sub brands.

Beck started in the industry as a front of house engineer for several local clubs and churches in addition to working at Lentine’s, a full service five-store music and pro audio chain in the Cleveland/Akron, OH area. Beginning as a cashier and quickly moving into sales, he worked his way up to managing three of the five stores and serving as guitars and accessories buyer for the whole chain.
