PMC Speakers USA Brings its Hi-Fi and Custom Install Business In-House

PMC USA has restructured its Hi-Fi and Custom Installation division. The company says it has done so to “to capitalise on the success of its high quality loudspeaker range and strengthen future growth by ensuring a smoother route to market.”

Sales for all PMC Hi-Fi and CI products will now be handled centrally from the company’s offices in Irvine, CA, which already operates as a hub for all professional monitor sales. The new division will be headed by Brent Esry, PMC USA’s National Sales Manager for CI-HiFi.

Solotech Names Claude Régimbald as Director of Business Development, Quebec Territory

Claude RegimbaldSolotech has announced that Claude Regimbald has been appointed as the company’s director of business development, Quebec territory.

Regimbald founded Specs Audio in 1979, a company he successfully led for over 30 years. Following the acquisition of Specs Audio by Solotech in 2012, Claude spent three years as general director of the Solotech office in Gatineau and Ottawa. As part of his new role, Régimbald will be responsible of developing new market segments and collaborating with the Montreal, Quebec, and Saguenay sales teams.

AES 140th International Convention Heading to Paris in June

AES137With AES’s 139th International Convention just around the corner in October in New York City, the organization how now announced that its next European convention, AES 140, will return to Paris, France, taking place June 4–7, 2016. The AES140 “Call for Papers” and other deadlines are to be announced in the coming months as the AES prepares for its next European Convention.

Rode Microphones Acquires Aphex

Australian pro-audio company Rode Microphones has acquired California-based audio technology manufacturer Aphex, known for its range of audio signal processing equipment and technologies.

Founded in the mid-1970s as Aphex Systems, its products and technologies are now used in a wide range of applications for music, film, video, theatre, gaming, and communications. Aphex’s “Exciter” technology was inducted into the TEC “TECnology” Hall of Fame in 2013, in recognition of its contribution to improving decades of music and voice for countless artists, albums, movies, TV and radio shows around the world.

AES Toronto Organizing an Audio Fieldtrip to the Eastman School of Music

On Saturday Sept. 19, 2015, the Toronto chapter of the AES will hold a special event at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. It will feature a tour of the school’s three concert/recital halls and their inter-connection to a sophisticated recording control facility, as well as a retrospective of the history of the recording institute with former students and teachers sharing their memories and impressions.
