EM Acoustics Names Contact Distribution as its Canadian Distributor

Broadcast Audio Expo, Audio 4 VR & More Added to AES 143 Programming in NYC

01 AES137Audio Engineering Society’s  143rd International Convention will be taking place from Oct. 18-21, 2017, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

In addition to the popular Project Studio Expo and Live Sound Expo, along with New York’s own Broadway Sound Expo, new events added to the complement of exhibition floor activities include the Broadcast Audio Expo sessions, covering audio applications for radio & TV studios, outside broadcasts and streaming broadcast over portable devices. As one of the pioneers in the interoperability of networking protocols, AES will host a special insight panel that will look into the current and future of AoIP and transport systems. The Broadcast Audio Expo is being held in partnership with sponsors Yamaha, Neumann/Sennheiser, and Calrec.

CITT Rendez-vous 2017 Full Conference Program Released

RendezVousRendez-vous 2017, CITT’s annual trade show and conference, will be heading to the Imperial Theatre and Saint John Theatre Company in Saint John, NB from Aug. 9-12.

This year’s event will feature a similar schedule to that which was introduced last year. The trade show will have visiting hours over a two-day span on Thursday and Friday. The new Product Show ‘n Tell Breakfast will kick off the Thursday morning and there will be a Corporate Luncheon on the Thursday. Thursday night will feature the always-popular Swag Bingo. The Friday will feature the Ladies of the Backstage Happy Hour and Saturday will be the Caucus Plenary Breakfast and CITT/ICTS Awards Banquet in the evening. The annual general meeting will return to an AGM Luncheon on Saturday.

Steve’s Music Montreal Being Forced to Move

steve's musicSteve’s Music’s flagship Montreal location, one of the best known musical instrument stores in Canada, is being forced to move from its St. Antoine Street location. Later this summer it will be moving to a new address on St. Catherine Street East.

“We’re moving because we’re forced to, not because we want to,” store manager Sheldon Sazant told the Montreal Gazette newspaper.

ESTA Announces New Alliance with NAMM for 2018 Show

The Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) has announced an alliance with the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) to work with them in expanding the NAMM Show to include a special focus on the live event technology community. The show annually welcomes more than 100,000 professional attendees from 139 countries.

This opportunity was made possible by the addition of a new building coming online at the Anaheim Convention Center, where the show is held every January. The additional space will allow The 2018 NAMM Show to offer the event technology industry a diverse show floor, robust professional education, and a series of relevant networking events.
