PreSonus Announces New Commercial Division

PreSonus Audio Electronics, a manufacturer of audio-recording and live-sound software, hardware, and related accessories, has announced the launch of the company’s new PreSonus Commercial Division. In addition to products previously sold and marketed under the WorxAudio and PreSonus brands, PreSonus has, for years, offered a comprehensive range of mixing consoles, processors, and other products that complement WorxAudio offerings. By combining all these products under the PreSonus brand and into the new PreSonus Commercial Division, the company effectively unifies all commercial audio related products under the PreSonus brand umbrella.

AES to Join The 2018 NAMM Show in New Format: AES at NAMM

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and The Audio Engineering Society (AES) have announced a new collaborative alliance which will integrate pro audio educational training activities related to live sound, performance audio, recording technology and other topics into The 2018 NAMM Show, running from Jan. 25-28 in Anaheim, CA.

As part of the integration and affiliation, “AES at NAMM” will establish a new format for this part of the AES’s West Coast presence in 2018. The organization’s technical sessions, expert speaker presentations, hands-on workshops and tutorials, as well as networking events and social opportunities will join as a segment of The NAMM Show’s professional development offerings for music and pro audio professionals.

InfoComm Releases Updated Standard for Audio Coverage Uniformity

InfoComm-InternationalInfoComm International announced today the release of the updated standard Audio Coverage Uniformity (ACU) in Listener Areas (ANSI/INFOCOMM A102.01:2017).

With advancements in technology and continual audio coverage problems, InfoComm says it was important to produce an updated version of the ACU standard, which was first released in 2009. Although the original ACU standard was designed for audio coverage in enclosed environments, the 2017 version expands to cover most listener areas.

Atlona has announced a new distribution partnership with SFM. Based in Dorval, QC, SFM will act as an extension of Atlona’s sales and support network across Canada, joining a growing roster of global partners specializing in Atlona AV solutions and products.

SFM says it aims to work with suppliers that share similar business and technology philosophies. In partnering with Atlona, the SFM team believes it has found a company focused on interoperable solutions that also address the pertinent industry trends. Mike Calo, brand manager for SFM, points to Atlona’s recent innovations for AV over IP (OmniStream) and cloud-based control (Velocity) as particularly appealing.
