Yamaha Commercial Audio Forms New Division

Yamaha Corporation of Japan recently announced that the company’s Commercial Audio division is breaking off on its own. Named Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems Inc., the split will allow the company to better focus on its service to the commercial audio and systems installation markets. Larry Italia has been named President of the newly created company.

With official operations beginning on April 1, 2006, this newly formed company will also be responsible for the Canadian market. Located in Buena Park, CA, the new headquarters will reside on the same campus as Yamaha Corporation of America and Yamaha Electronics Corporation, but in its own building. “The Canadian market place, along with our US customers, will appreciate the benefits of this newly formed company as we provide a more streamlined approach to their business,” said Italia. “Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems Inc. will provide dedicated commercial audio technical and customer service department and product training centres, and systems engineering facilities along with test and measurement labs for speakers including the Nexo product line which we will continue to distribute in the US.” The company will also distribute Nexo products in Canada. Current Canadian reps, including Ashley Clarke, Brad Parsons and Michel Trepanier, will continue to reside in Canada and can be reached through the US office...
